Engage 12 {Las Vegas}: Angela Desveaux on Stage

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Ok I must admit, I’m a little biased but I’m always so proud of my wife whenever she is on stage speaking. She is intelligent, eloquent, and tells a great story (and she’s not even paying me to say that!).  In early June the ladies behind the wildly successful Engage conferences (Kathryn & Rebecca) have asked her to take the main stage for a 20 minute presentation.  Of course she accepted the invitation and what better place to speak than in Las Vegas at the Beautiful Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Angela (who is the Editor-in-Chief of our magazine, WedLuxe) will be speaking primarily about our first annual WedLuxe Wedding Show (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) which was held this past January in Toronto.  She’ll also be around all week networking and chatting with everyone at the conference.  If you haven’t done so already, you can sign up here for the conference.  If you’re a wedding planner or wedding professional, it’s not a conference to be missed :)

Recent Client Feedback: THANK YOU to our wonderful couples!

By | Exciting! | No Comments

As we continue to finish the editing for all of our wedding feature films, it’s always so rewarding when clients take the time out of their busy schedules to tell us about their film.  It not only gives us all warm fuzzes here in the office, but it also re-affirms why we do what we do.  I have personally been filming weddings since 2002 and since that time have been fortunate enough to film hundreds of weddings around the World with almost any kind of culture you can imagine.  We’ve filmed in large cathedrals off the coast of South Africa to small intimate weddings in the hotel rooms of luxury properties.  What keeps us going and continues to push us are the clients that we get to meet and work with each year.  We aren’t a wedding film factory and each of our films is a custom product.  We film 20-30 weddings annually and are capping our commissions this year at 20 (only 4 more spots left).  The reason for not being a wedding film factory is both personal and professional.  As the owner of the company, I want to make sure that we can continue to deliver the high level of customer service that I insist our company puts forth, but also to make sure that we are fresh and engaged for each wedding that we film.  That’s why it’s so re-energizing when clients share with us their reaction to their films – it continues to push us all.  Here are some recent comments from our couples.

Hi Bruce,

You’ve made me a very happy girl!  Thank you :)

Andrew and I finally got a chance to sit down and watch the wedding film…and WOW seems to really be the only word that comes to mind.

I loved everything about it – from the packaging and the film itself, to the USB version and the tissues that you so thoughtfully provided!  Just opening the box and seeing how you personalized it got us so giddy!  It was so nice to sit together and recapture the moments and feelings of the day and even a robot, such as myself, was brought to tears.  :P   We can’t wait to rewatch and share this with our family and friends.  I have no doubt that they will be just as blown away as we were :)

Thank you so much for perfectly documenting our wedding day and paying such close attention to all the things that meant so much to both Andrew and I.  We hope to keep in touch, as I know we’ll definitely be sending any future brides we know your way!
You’re truly the best!  Thank you again :)
Smiles,
Andrew & Abby

Hello Bruce!Hope all is going well. We’d like to thank you very much for our film. We’ve watched it numerous times now and the only thing we can really say is it’s perfect, and it’s exactly what we were hoping for. You did a tremendous job; it feels like we’re reliving the day when we watch it. It’s so unlike any other wedding video we’ve seen (hence the reason we call it our “Wedding Film” when describing it to others). The song selection is spot on, and your film really reflects how the day went in our minds.Have no worries: it was worth every second we waited for it.Thanks again for such a great job. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you
and your services to anyone we encounter.Best wishes,
Chloe and Herbert

Hi Bruce,
I absolutely love what was delivered tonight, everything from the box that contained the tissues, popcorn and card – nice touch.Huy and I are very impressed with Cloud Nine’s work. It definitely brought tears to our eyes and you have successfully captured moments that are special to us without being told what they are. I just wanted to let you know that of all the vendors that we dealt with, we are most happy with you (not bc your work is kickass) but bc you displayed true professionalism and a man of his word. We will definitely recommend Cloud Nine to others and in fact, have already.

Thanks again,
Beth

WedLuxe Magazine is coming to the iPad ~ this month!

By | Exciting!, WedLuxe | 10 Comments

As many of you know, Cloud Nine Creative owns and publishes WedLuxe Magazine, Canada’s Luxury Wedding Magazine. Along with being a print publication, WedLuxe was the first wedding magazine in North America to offer HD video content of real-life weddings and behind-the-scenes video footage online when we launched in 2006.  Since that time, we have co-ordinated and produced hundreds of photoshoots and countless hours of video footage.  When the iPad first emerged I was immediately excited about the possibility of making our magazine available to a much larger audience. The iPad is the perfect medium to again combine our printed magazine content with our digital content for a much more immersive experience for our customers.  The iPad also needed to evolve to this point since only recently has Apple developed a dedicated app called “Newstand” which is specifically intended to help users download magazines.

We have been fervently working with our App developer over the past 6 months and am excited to announce that later this month our current issue and one past issue will be available for download in “Newsstand” in the App store.  Please check back here and on www.wedluxe.com for the official announcement when the App is available for download.

We’re looking forward to sharing our magazine with more of you, very soon!
