Introducing Our New Toronto Office! =)

I have some exciting news to share with you all today, but it doesn’t come without a brief explanation!

As many of you know, we have been filming weddings in Vancouver since 2002 and in Toronto since 2005. Even though our company originated in the West, we have roots that go bi-coastal long before Cloud Nine Creative came into being. I was born and raised in Vancouver and my wife (the other half of our company) was born and raised in Eastern Ontario in a city called Napanee. If you read the “our story” page on our website you can get all the details on how things developed, but the gist is that my wife and I have always considered our life in Canada as bi-coastal since we met in 1997. Our business is firmly established in Vancouver and over the past 5 years, we have been very fortunate to have been welcomed by clients and fellow industry professionals in Toronto as well. As we continue to expand our business it only felt natural to set up a home base there, while still maintaining our connection to Vancouver with our office and house on the Westcoast.

Our magazine, WedLuxe is also thankfully growing and we have been very fortunate to be welcomed with open arms by our colleagues in the East so it only made sense to be able to be closer to that end of the country for a portion of our year.

The new office needed to be in a central location. We searched high and low and put in offer after offer on places before finally settling on a great new building on Queen Street. The only problem was, it was bare bones when we bought it ~ new, but bare. After what seemed like never-ending trips to décor stores and the assembling furniture, we are now open and running.  Admittedly we are at about 80% with décor (images of all our WedLuxe shoots on the walls are a must, but I’m not sure I agree with my wife that we *need* to put up wallpaper, even though I’m sure it will look great!).  Final pictures to follow =)

Just as we were putting the finishing touches on the space though, it was time to head back to Vancouver. We arrived back in Vancouver on Tuesday for a few weeks so our office in Toronto will have to wait for our return on April 16th in order to have those final images/prints put up. It’s exciting to have a place in both cities now, and we feel truly blessed ~ so thank you all for your continued support!

Okay okay, here’s a shot of our Toronto location.  Hope to see many of you there for a visit soon!

  1. Congratulations Bruce! Your office looks so clean and bright – kind of like that Mac you have sitting on the table :).

You truly are inspiring to our industry and your relentless pursuit of perfection and art has raised the standard for filmmakers!

  2. One small correction: my hometown Napanee is a lovely little “town” but not quite a city. 😉 Thanks everyone for your comments. Phil: IKEA clear chairs. High back seat was found in a store on King St E but I can’t remember the name.

  3. Wow, thanks so much for all the kind words, everyone – much appreciated!!! 🙂

John: Yes the cabinets are from IKEA (high-gloss white)
Jessica: NEVER! We love Vancouver too much (just don’t hate me b/c I also love Toronto!)
Kaipo: We aren’t sure yet, but probably retractable blinds, preferably motorized – we’ll see!

  4. looks beautiful guys, great work. Nice balance & light. congrats. (looking for the wallpaper Ange chose though)
